Rings and other Cool Things

These are  my latest rings made from brass artistic wire.

They are simple and feel so good on!
I like lines, curves and simplicity mostly.
Sometimes I go a little wild.

This is not an example of such though.
My cousin gave all the females at our Xmas family reunion four pearls.
This is the first one I've wrapped.
I have been quite anxious as they have no holes.
I'm pleased with this so far.
Still working on the others three...
Was going to go wild, maybe.

Yesterday I caught some of
A Miami Vice show...
I was surprised with some of the songs.
I was a young teen when this was out and I liked it...
The fashion is paramount in my mind.
I thought we ruled fashion (when I was) in the 80's
I now know the fluoro must've damaged
my fashion senses.

Last night I listened to Jimbo's
Some great music and interesting features
An Australian Tale'
The Science so far behind retina repair using stem cells.
Making Bows and Arrows and Apricot Chicken.

I'm hungry!
I best go do dinner for the cats...

More of my Monday

Cheesy Pasta with Chilli, Tomato & a Sprinkle of Rock Salt

A slightly larger portion than the previous night
 because the temps plummeted!

That evening I listened to Anthony Horvath
@kiwisnake do his thing on Monday Mayhem

Music from all genre, era and many requests...

I really wanted this one...

Mr Saxobeat

I got this one...

Christina Milian - Dip it Low

It was a great night.
Again as always with Mushroom FM shows
I heard songs unknown to me and I learned
the names of songs that I knew to hear but that's all.
Like this one...

Dreams by Cranberries

Which was requested by Steph @ephphy

Oh and this song I love the beginning and verses?
But some of it just urks me. lol

Bruno Mars - Grenade

Now I wasn't the only one to think this was a little OTT
So did The Edge Radio Station

Here is Their Honest Version of Grenade

They had people ring in suggestions of what you would real do.
Was pretty cool and William Faumui
has an awesome voice!

My Monday Corona

Monday 27 February 2012

I noticed this beautiful Corona as I stepped out of the car.
On my way to see my boss so he could verify my existence.

The layers of cloud were just amazing!
Cirrus cumulus and I love the lines of the power lines.

A closer and more centred shot I couldn't really see if I had the whole corona.
But photo's can't do justice the awesome sight
of that ominous grey ring like iris, with it's near iridescent hue, and of course
the pupil of striking white being the sun.

More power lines cirrus and cumulus.
I love how the cirrus waft off on random angles.

This is on its side but I love it!
Soft layers of cirrus and the fluffy cumulus.
So naturally I'm craving candy floss.

I love the infinite feel to this photo the clouds take the eye to the horizon.

In this photo to they go all the way to the horizon.

this is how hard it was to see the corona in my camera.
I couldnt get the entire ring.

But it sure is pretty.

I think this is my fave.
The cirrus waft from the sun to where cumulus lull.

and here the different layers lines textures.

Cards and Cards of Love

I am making cards - little cards they are
approx 50mm x 75mm
They are in sets of three.
I have cutters to cut perfect shapes in paper.
In white linen paper I cut a spiral, a heart, and a flower
into the centre of the bottom third of three separate pieces.
Spiral = Spirit
Heart = Love
Flower = Life
I then placed Purple tissue behind the spiral.
Magenta tissue behind the heart.
Light apple green tissue behind the flower.
Then I glued this to 'the card' which is a natural fibred hue
and creates a gentle contrast with the white linen.
Inside I have pasted a white sheet on which to write that perfect message.
Then I made an envelope to accompany each card
with the corresponding shape.

Then I made these!
Set of three all hearts!
Green, Purple, Magenta,
with their envelopes.

I went through and put my NEW stamp on the back of all
the cards.
(I first stamped white copy paper then stuck that to the card)
Three dozen of them!
Lol

When I purchased the rubber stamp I also bought 25 cards.
I know I have a card that's serious stuff!
Geez!
What am I doing?!
So I have these cards with my name and company name'
e addy, website, cell number, etc...
But no sign of what I do!
So I am cutting and pasting pics of my jewellery on the back
of the cards it looks quite effective.
I think.

I even thought about making them into key rings...
I don't know.
I think I think too much!
These are merely the results of me catching up on
some of those thoughts
before they mutate beyond recognition.

The Seed - The Son - The Spider

Cullen cutting the seed pods off our Swan Plants
There are hundreds I think...
There distinctive look kept Cullen amused and giggling.

I mean look at the spiky testicle shaped things.
Though if testicles were this shade of green or any shade of green,
the owner may want to seek medical attention STAT!

They are quite beautiful on the plant with it's almost bamboo structure.
But so abundant!
Now they're starting to mature and let their seed go...
*grins*

and it gets everywhere!
Look!
You can even roll it up and if I had a wheel I could spin it into cotton.
Make clothing sell them as organic, grow plantations,
become a millionaire!
Okay so there are gaps there, but it could happen...

See the seed gets into every nook and cranny!
And when you touch it it is silky soft and sticky becoming stuck to
whatever it is touching.
The seed creates quite a mess.
It's all over the floor in my lounge!

A close up of the dodgy pod!
No its the spider there, yes a triangular arachnid.
Lets zoom and cut shall we...

See there!
I thought I had found something on it...
Spiny orb nz - images- Spiders!
Those ladies almost makes my little one look cute!
It's shape made me first google, triangular orb, horned orb, spiky spiny.
I assume because it is a bland light to dark fawny colour,
and kind of small that it is a male...
I have seen similar shaped but fatter and vibrant,
mainly black spider with yellow and red horns.
One person I know once called them a cats head spider.
I had little tolerance of spiders back then 14 yrs ago.
I was just in the process of trying to curb my fears of spiders
and other creepy crawlies, so my son wouldn't scream at the sight of bugs.
Odd I guess,
especially now he could be said to be a bug enthusiast.
I can't find this one!
I just don't search right I'm sure. Lol
Found it!
Well at least something close to it!

My Lily Study

When I took these photo's in my mind they were all extremely different,
highlighting some of the Lily's Unique beauty.

In this photo the filament and style are green
the anther a deep antique velvet red and large!
The petals also have papillae which are the raised bumps
on the inner petal.
When I searched for what they were I came up with tongues.
Yep the same things we have on our tongues
and I got images which was a little urggh!

The perfect white petals
with large vein down the centre pretty pink
at the back of the curled petals.
They look beautifully alien to me in some way...

In the end they didn't look all that different
and I hadn't changed my setting
to optimum so these pics could've been better.

Duets

Listening to The Minx Mix
with Julia Mosen @JuliaMinx on Sunday 19 Feb.
Julia played the
Paul McCartney & Michael Jackson duet.
Say Say Say

Julia said she'd wished they'd done more.
I thought hmm
I might do a blog post with their songs

The Girl Is Mine

There was this one that I don't remember
ever hearing before...

The Man

Sir Paul McCartney pays tribute to Michael Jackson:
telegraph

I thought I'd put this song in as well because it sort of fits
 I think...

Ebony and Ivory
Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder

Oh and on duets Julia also
played this one of the best duets ever!

Diana Ross & Lionel Richie
Endless Love

and this very cool one!

Shaggy & ? Rik Rok ?

It Wasn't Me

A great evening of music thanks Julia!

My Week as a Nut
13-02-12

It seemed a looooong week.
Filled with very little.
So I went to my photos there were a few...

Like this fine one of my nearly empty
Nutino - Hazelnut Spread
So rich and creamy!
I eat it by the spoonful!
Alas it is no more
so sad!

My week had much chilli in it to!
Like this piece of WHITE bread toast
Covered with gorgeous red 'home grown' tomatoes
with a sprinkling of onion
and fresh green chilli
alas no more chilli!
So sad!

 My son found this brand-new

At first I thought it an Albino
having a really pale green head &
being peachy pink on its back and body.
Even the veins of it's wings were peachy pink so pretty!
The end of it's wing were so fresh that they had
globules of water pooled at each tip.

It took approximately 5-6 hours
for this little one to turn black and green and harden up.
It was awesome to experience.
I had never realised how long they were
so vulnerable for.
I actually thought it was an hour tops
transition - photo synthesis - thingy?

Another attempt to photograph raindrops.
This pastel orange Tiger Lily proving a proud subject.

The rain drops are there hard to see though.
Unless I do this

crop 'n chop
There is the odd drop on a couple of
odd but beautiful petals.

I am pleased by the intense orange and burgundy
spottiness of these and the
small but valuable light reflection
in the raindrops.

My latest jewellery

A petite heart.
An intense green heart.
In a silver plated embrace.
Forever chained to one who own's it.

A placid orange heart.
In swirls of silver plated embrace.
Waiting for it's owner.
 It's anchor.

Petite one.
Little dark one.
Encased in lace of
brass while awaiting the silver plating.
Of security and ownership.

'dreamscape'
- blue atop orange -
- coloured and cracked quartz -
- weaved & wrapped -
- in silver plated wire -
Through silver webbed time space.
Mutation celebration in orange earth.
Transformation in bluest space.

two brass rings of odd design
triple bands
swirls and curls
accent beads
bronze - purple - pink - gold
tiered & woven
two unique one of a kinds

There were many great shows on

this week some I caught live some on podcasts.

I really enjoyed catching
@inthecenterring - Jeff Stump's
show
for the first time it was an excellent!
Loved the music!

I also caught Anne Cosgrove's
I enjoyed the music so much I grabbed the podcast
as soon as I could and enjoyed it a second time.

Oh I totally changed my website
and set up my jewellery up
which was quite a task!

Is my site's new name

Beauty Man Made & Roses

- A photo walk -

Let us stroll
amongst metal beasts of burden

in greens and reds
with no V's less than 6

some beasts restored
beyond pristine

others built from scratch
and raw to roar
(hotrod)

white walls & shiny spoked rims
2 colours blue & white chrome apart
a 3 holed chrome gill detail shines

my fave of the day for style & shine
it's little round window
it's left hand drive

it's chrome minimal in dark design
a stylish gill in slight recess
me & my toes in panel reflect

one more extreme this bright orange thing
yellow flame reach down to googly light
& a skull flame grill

then this funny fella 'bout 12 feet tall
all thin and red with a yellow head
and yellow tickly hands
a simple air filled amusement

a wind swept day as tall palms profess
their boofy heads mimic my hair
and clouds upon high a scattered splay

beside & beneath traffic light we wait
I shoot the arm holding the lights dark
against the blue & white sky
a beautiful day

to the voting booth with you
orange & black is the sign with prominent arrow
not unlike the threat of natures yellow & black

then a perk
for that public service of which nought shall come
smelling the roses around this school
best rose gardens in town

from snowy white to lush pink blush blooms
& an apricot whose scent is true

more than a dozen yellow swoon so beautifully
such rampant blooms

a vibrant reddy orange yellow bloom
like a bush of floral fire

to the deepest blackberry bloom
it's satiny petals so smooth

to the quarry we head
more floral beauties to feast the eyes upon
rusty red and orange pansies
 a lovely site

 my favourite sweet peas
deep red & purple
with that heavenly scent to die for

then I see
single baby pink roses rambling free

ponga fern tower above
in dappled shade
I take relief

softest violet
violet blooms so delicate so sweet

stunning white nigella
 her wispy ways impress
a smidge of purple tempt

ruffled fuschia
coral & whitish pink
like ballerina float mid air

a yellow cymbidium
it's distinctive stamen and labellum rouged

That was my 26th Day of November 2011
 A stunning Saturday.
